MovieBox Pro for Roku – Get free movies & TV on Roku with 2 working methods: Screen Mirror from Android or sideload via Roku Developer Mode. No subscription needed.

Roku is the most popular streaming platform in North America. It is also one of the most locked-down — the Roku Channel Store reviews every app submission and rejects anything that aggregates unlicensed streaming links. MovieBox Pro will never appear in the Roku Channel Store for the same reason it is not in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
That does not mean you cannot watch MovieBox Pro on your Roku TV or Roku streaming stick. It means you use one of two methods that Roku users in 2026 rely on daily. Both are free. Both work tonight. If you face any issue after applying these methods so open this not working guide. It tell you why its not working and give you best solution.

Two Methods — Pick the One That Fits Your Setup
| Method | What You Need | Difficulty | Quality |
|---|---|---|---|
| Screen Mirror from Android | Android phone with MovieBox Pro installed | Very Easy | HD / FHD |
| Developer Mode Sideload | Roku + PC on same Wi-Fi | Moderate | HD / FHD / 4K |
Method 1 — Screen Mirror from Your Android Phone
This is the fastest route and requires nothing beyond an Android phone with MovieBox Pro already installed.
How it works: Your Android phone casts its screen to the Roku device over Wi-Fi. Whatever plays on the phone displays on the Roku-connected TV. MovieBox Pro streams on the big screen while you control everything from the phone.
Step by step:
- Install MovieBox Pro on your Android phone — the Android setup guide covers this in under 5 minutes
- Make sure your Android phone and Roku are on the same Wi-Fi network
- On your Roku, go to Settings → System → Screen Mirroring and set it to Always Allow or Prompt
- On your Android phone, pull down the notification bar and tap Cast or Smart View or Screen Mirror (label varies by brand)
- Select your Roku device from the list
- Open MovieBox Pro on your phone — it now plays on the TV
- Control playback from the phone while the video shows on the big screen
What this gives you: Full MovieBox Pro content library on your Roku TV with zero additional hardware cost. The phone acts as the remote. Pause, skip, change sources, and adjust subtitles from your hand.
The limitation: Screen mirroring quality depends on Wi-Fi signal strength between your phone and Roku. On a strong 5 GHz connection, 1080p streams smoothly. On a weaker 2.4 GHz connection, there may be occasional lag or compression artefacts. For consistent 4K quality without compromise, use Method 2.
Method 2 — Sideload via Roku Developer Mode
Roku includes a Developer Mode — a feature Roku built for app testing — that allows direct installation of apps that are not in the Channel Store. MovieBox Pro installs through this mode as a channel package.
What you need:
- Any Roku device (Roku Express, Premiere, Ultra, Streaming Stick, or Roku TV)
- A Windows or Mac computer on the same Wi-Fi network
- About 15 minutes
Step by step:
Part A — Enable Developer Mode on Roku:
- On your Roku remote, press Home 3 times, then Up twice, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right — this key sequence opens the Developer Mode activation screen
- Select Enable Installer and make note of the IP address shown on screen (looks like 192.168.x.x)
- Set a developer username and password when prompted
Part B — Install via the Roku Web Interface:
- On your computer, open a browser and type the Roku IP address from step A into the address bar (e.g. http://192.168.1.105)
- Enter the developer credentials you created
- You will see the Roku Developer Application Installer
- Download the MovieBox Pro package file from movieboxpro.net/download-roku
- Click Browse in the installer, select the package file, and click Install
- MovieBox Pro appears as a new channel on your Roku home screen
Navigation on Roku: MovieBox Pro’s interface navigates with the Roku directional pad once installed. The OK button selects, the Back button goes back. Roku does not require a separate navigation tool (unlike Firestick which needs Mouse Toggle).
Why Not Just Get a Firestick Instead?
A fair question. If your Roku is already set up and working, replacing it just for MovieBox Pro access makes no sense. Both methods above get MovieBox Pro on your existing Roku TV without buying anything new.
However — if your Roku is ageing or you are setting up a new TV room — the Firestick 4K Max is worth considering. MovieBox Pro installs natively on Firestick as an APK (same as Android), requires no Developer Mode tricks, and outputs 4K HDR directly. The Firestick guide covers the full setup. At around £55, the Firestick 4K Max pays for itself quickly versus streaming subscription costs.

Everything available on the Android and iPhone versions of MovieBox Pro is accessible on Roku through either method — the same 200,000+ title library covering Hollywood, Bollywood, K-dramas, anime, Turkish series, anime, documentaries, and live sports highlights. The content updates daily and 4K sources are available for a significant portion of the library.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is MovieBox Pro in the Roku Channel Store? No. Roku’s Channel Store review process rejects third-party streaming aggregators. MovieBox Pro will not appear there. The two methods on this page — screen mirroring and Developer Mode sideloading — are the only ways to get it on Roku.
Does screen mirroring drain my phone battery quickly? More than normal phone use, yes. Keep your phone plugged in while screen mirroring for long sessions. Alternatively, the Developer Mode sideload installs MovieBox Pro directly on Roku — no phone needed after setup.
Can I use a VPN with MovieBox Pro on Roku? Roku does not support VPN apps natively. The most effective workaround is installing a VPN on your router, which protects all devices on your network including the Roku. Alternatively, screen mirror from an Android phone that has a VPN active — the encrypted connection applies to all traffic from the phone including the mirrored stream. For VPN options, see the MovieBox Pro VPN guide.
The Developer Mode sideload is not working — what do I do? Confirm your PC and Roku are on the exact same Wi-Fi network (not one on 2.4 GHz and the other on 5 GHz if your router gives them different IP ranges). Also check that the IP address shown in Roku Developer Mode matches what you type in your browser exactly. The fix guide covers common installation errors.
Do I need an invitation code on Roku? No — tap Skip or use Guest mode when MovieBox Pro opens. You stream the full library without registering. If you want an account for watchlist sync, the invitation code guide has free methods that take under 15 minutes.
Is the screen mirror method legal? Screen mirroring is a standard feature built into Android and Roku by their respective manufacturers. Using it to display content from MovieBox Pro raises the same considerations as using MovieBox Pro itself — the app and the mirroring technology are both legal; the content legality depends on your country’s copyright laws.
